The grand American of impressionism, Mary Stevenson Cassatt to me is very underrated by history. While her work is widely known, it is my belief she deserves far more credit. More than any other impressionist artist, Cassatt paints the family, the person. Through time and age all art fades. This difference in my work is the heightened colors I bring to the work. I found a beautiful balance in this piece.

Let me declare I have an auditory processing problem, a birth defect. The disorder was not diagnosed till I was age 28. After graduating Bloomfield High, CT, I enrolled in the University of Houston to study engineering. I was homesick and finding it difficult to study.
